Frequently Asked Questions
What shall I wear?
Wear suitable clothes for exercising in- whatever you feel comfortable in, sports wear trousers or shorts and T-shirt/ sports top.
As you progress you will need to wear shorts and vest top or similar, as you will need skin contact to grip on the pole but for the 1st few lessons this is not so important.
Trainers are need for the warm-up, but otherwise the session is done in bare-feet
No jewelery please it can cause injury and may scratch the poles! Jewleery that cannot be removed must be covered with tape.
Please do not use any moisturisers or oils on your skin prior to class this makes the poles slippy so you will be unable to grip and this can result in injury.
What shall I bring?
Please bring water, small towel/cloth to wipe pole/ hands ,
and...a desire to learn, a sense of humour and a smile ;-)
Are there any age restrictions?
Yes, you must be age over 16 for classes (written parental consent if under 18yrs)
18yrs + for Hen Parties.
Are there any health restrictions?
You will be asked to complete a health prior to start.
This is not suitable for pregnant women or those who are less than 3 months post-partum.
Not recommended if you have any joint or back problems.
Please seek you GP's advice if you have a medical condition and are unsure.
Will there be any men in class? Can men do it?
Classes are currently ladies only, but if men wish to have a go private sessions/group session can be booked. (There are some great male pole dancers out there & even pole schools run by men!)
Anything else I need to know?
Pole Dance Fitness may cause, bruising, chaffing and general muscle soreness.
Participation is completely voluntary and is done so at own risk of.any injury resulting .
You be asked to fill out an Informed Consent/discalimer form to which details and explains this further.
Avoid eating a heavy meal before class.
Please do not drink alcohol before class- you will be asked to leave!
Please be respectful of others in the class
What are the benefits of Pole Dance Fitness?
It is an all round body toner! Works the major muscles of the back, stomach, legs and arms as well as improving cardiac function.
Class has several elements to it so you achieve a great all round workout ..
Aerobic warm-up, pole work, strength training and flexibility exercises.
It's fun, fun, fun!!! and just ....different!
Terms & Conditions
*Booking essential as places are limited.
£10 Deposit required for all courses 1 week in advance
Deposits are non-refunable and non-transferable to other courses
Remainder of payment is required on wk 1 unless otherwise agreed.
Participants must be over 16yrs for fitness classes, 18yrs for Hen Parties.
Particpants must not be intoxicated by alcohol or any other substance
No jewelery, rings/piecings that cannot be removed must be covered with tape it is your responsibilty to do this proir to class.
Health questionnaries & disclaimers must be completed proir to joining any changes to personnel details must be disclosed as an when.
Missed Lessons- Payment is for the entire course & attendance is expected, missed lessons will not be refunded,
It may be possible to make up missed lessons on current course if there is another group running at the same level or level below,
or - on the next course at same level- dependant on spaces
(If enough notice of absence is given and spaces are available in another group this may be offered as an alternative and gesture of good will, but can in no way be guaranteed.)
NB -Please phone/txt /e-mail if you cannot make a session so we know how many to expect , how many poles to put up, to offer the space to others who may have missed a session, and to offer alternate session to yourself if possible.
If more than 2 sessiions are missed it may be necessary to repeat the level.
Deferring- It is possible to defer if once you start a course and cannot continue at current time, £10 deposit will be lost & must be paid again, one weeks notice must be given.
Refunds/Cancellations
Courses:
Partial refunds may be given once course has started in exceptional circumstances only ie with medical certificate where it is NOT possible to defer.
Weeks notice is still required & minus deposit.(max refund on £55 would be £35 Lessons attended will be charged at standard rate of £10)
Taster lessons:
72 hours notice must be given for refund, or to defer.
Private Lessons
-24hrs notice must be given to recieve refund or reschedual
£15 will be charged if less than 24hrs notice is give
Less than 2 hours notice -Will be charged at FULL amount so....Please call if you cannot make the your session booked asap!
If a class is cancelled due to instructor illness/absence then an alternate date for the class will be offered or a refund for that class will be given.
Parties: £60 Deposit payable one month in advance (non-refundable)
Full amount payable at least one week before & non-refundable after this time.
